Default front suspension ball joint boots

Does anyone have a similar problem with open ball joint boots on front wishbone. It is on a 2011 xk conv. Dealer said normal for a Florida car. Looks like an expensive repair, and would like to address it prior to warranty expiring.

I've had this issue with every car and cycle since moving to Florida in 2004. Got great advice a few years back from a few guys showing their cars regularly at local venues. Replace the rubber if damaged, clean it with mineral spirits if OK and let dry for one day. Then apply with a small paint brush a coating that is not petroleum based. I use this stuff from AutoGeek. You can't stop the heat and moisture from causing it to dry out and crack but doing this every six to eight months will add years. 2 of my drivers are outside under carports 100% of the time and I inspect the rubber when I check tire pressure once a month. So far in 3 years not a one needed replace. Don't let the product name throw you just check it out for yourself.
