Default Fuel filler cap warning

Well I have the car for 5 days and got my 1st warning. Check fuel filler cap. The fuel cap has not been removed since the day I picked up the car. I removed and refited the cap a number of times, and still have the warning on the dash. Is there any way to reset this or does this have to be taken care of at the dealer?

I have had that warning light a couple of months ago. Tried opening and removing the cap and nothing. I filled up the tank the next morning and the warning light went off and never came back. You might want to give it a try. Good luck![sm=smiley20.gif]

Thanks for the tip GOSTRIDER. I filled up this morning reset the cap, and the warning is still there.

Any other ideas before I make a trip to the dealer?

Thanks

They replaced the spring on mine a few weeks ago. A known fault.

that's good to hear the light went out.

Btw....the day I bought the car new, I didn't even make it home and my auxillary pump failed. First two days it was spent at the dealer waiting for a new pump. [:@]

I must have started and shut it down at least 30 times in the last few days,, well as long as it's gone and I don't have to go to the dealer
I'm happy

Guess we're prone to glitches once in awhile. Just this morning a new glitch happened to me. The climate control was greyed out and when I press it nothing happens although the air is still working and the knob below to turn the air to blow faster or slower was working. The external and left and right temp were blank too. After 20 minutes of leaving it turned off....I tried it again and its now I can get to the Climate screen. Odd!

Jaguar must have dug LUCAS up to help design the electronics in this car
