Default Geesh...even Adamesh springs won't work on 5LSC...

So what are the options for the 5L SC for lowering springs?

The Mina springs drop the car 1.2 inches or 30.5 MM which is too much for me. I have searched and have called a couple stores and can't find anyone that makes 20MM or 25MM drop springs for the 5L SC.

What about the springs they put on the XKR-S? they supposedly lower the car 17MM...that's what I remember being told by the dealer.

Would really like to find some springs to drop the car 20 to 25 MM...

Can't say for sure, but I think the XKR 175 is dropped 10mm from the standard XKR.

Ahh, that may work...wonder if I'd have the same issues getting 175 springs as the speed pack parts?

You could try these guys, they do a lot of aftermarket Jag stuff:

2006 Jaguar XK XK8 XKR XK R Performance Lowered uprated Road Springs | eBay

I believe since they are custom ordered they can make them a custom drop for you as well.

I checked around and it seems that many companies (like H&R) use the same part number for springs for XKR whether they are 4.2 (06-09) or 5.0 (2010+). Even if Adamesh writes that their 25mm springs won't fit on a 5.0L, I'm sure they will. I wanted to purchase K&N drop in air filters on my 2007 and even K&N had some listed for 2006 and older or 2010 and newer but none for 2007-2009. I bought some K&N filters from some company who had them listed for Jaguar XKR 2007-2013, all with the same part number... Perfect fit...

The Dynamic Pack gives the lower ride height, not the Speed Pack:

"The Dynamic Pack includes all of the enhancements featured in the Speed Pack, and adds extensive revisions to the suspension, including a stiffer knuckle for improved steering precision, revised spring and damper settings, and the Adaptive Dynamics. Ride height is lowered by 10mm and the Dynamic Pack also features 20" Vulcan forged lightweight alloys in polished finish and distinctive Red painted brake callipers."

I think you'll have trouble getting the bits from Jag; also, the Dynamic front springs go with the revised geometry and might not fit the standard suspension (that's just speculation on my part, but implementing just part of the overall package might not work).

Yes, the UK 2011 XKR 75 has more performance enhancements than the USA 2011 XKR 175, including suspension lowering as described below.

UK 2011 XKR 75 option:

THE XKR 75 AT A GLANCE

The unique features of the exclusive new XKR 75 include:
  • Increased performance through detailed engine and transmission recalibration
  • o Power increased to 530PS (compared to 510 PS on XKR)
  • o Torque increased to 655Nm (compared to 625Nm on XKR)
  • o Upgraded torque converter to handle the increased torque
  • Upgraded suspension systems for increased precision and agility
  • o Increased spring and damper rates (front springs 28 per cent stiffer, rear springs 32 per cent stiffer)
  • o New fully-machined aluminium front and revised rear suspension upright for increased camber stiffness (increased by 25 per cent)
  • o Re-tuned Adaptive Dynamics damper control software
  • o Reduced ride height (15mm front and 10mm rear)
  • Aerodynamic body pack with body coloured finish to front splitter, side sills extensions and rear diffuser, and body coloured larger rear spoiler and rear trunk lid finisher
  • Sports exhaust with improved performance and acoustics – system has new crossover pipe and larger exhaust outlets
  • New Stratus Grey exterior paint with optional graphics pack
  • Red brake callipers and 20” Vortex forged lightweight alloy wheels, diamond turned with dark grey finish
  • XKR performance interior in Charcoal and Ivory stitch leather, with Jet suedecloth headlining and XKR 75 tread plate
  • Active front lighting
  • Final calibration was done in partnership with the RSR engineering team which has been collaborating with Jaguar on the 2010 motorsport programme.
Production of the XKR 75 will be limited to just 75 vehicles, which will be available to order from July 2010 in the UK priced from £85,500 OTR. Customer deliveries will commence during October.

Yup, got one parked about 5 metres away

I'm going to do a write-up on it for the Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club magazine. I've written to Mike Cross to nail down a few details of the modifications - mostly to understand how much of the 75 is common to either the Dynamic Pack (which includes the Speed Pack) or the XKR-S, or whether anything is unique other than the horsepower (more than an XKR, less than an R-S) and the wheels. No idea if he'll reply, but I'd like to have my facts 100% straight.

I believe the 75 and the Dynamic Pack have the same suspension setup - the spec list you've reproduced above says it's lowered 15mm front and 10mm rear, and the Dynamic pack is 10mm for both, but I've also seen a review of the 75 that says 10mm all 'round. On the build list for mine, it just says "New Supercharge Suspension", which is no help. Hence the questions to Mr. Cross.

Anyway, to get back to rscultho's question: I think aftermarket springs will be the easiest way to lower a stock XKR suspension, because I don't think Jaguar will sell the components of their lowered system for any vehicle that doesn't have them fitted already. But I guess you could try.

Response from Powerhouse Automotive:

Hi,

I’m afraid it seems ours are only definitely suitable for the 4.2 model, though we intend to obtain and test the 5.0 springs soon and will either make some to suit that model or confirm that they are the same as the 4.2 version. For now I’m afraid we cannot be sure.

Regards,

Lawson
