Default He bought a high mileage XKR!

...at least that's the title of the video (I Bought a High-Mileage XKR!!).

Not much new here, but it is fun to try to figure out what this Extra-from-a-Guy-Ritchie-Film is saying, and fun shots of the English countryside, somewhere...

A little too much accent for me to follow. Ears are not what they used to be. Comes in handy with the Wolf.

Notice how so few below 35 know about this model, moreover, consider it 'targeted at the older buyer'.

Its a good thing, less likey to be stolen GTA style.

Yes Guy Ritchie's extra by today's standard, Kubrick's clockwork orange by the previous.

TRUE. Back in the day he would have been one of Malcolm MacDowell's sidekicks...

QUESTION FOR THE BRITS: he keeps talking about "high mileage," and deep into the clip he finally says that the car has "a hundred thirty-five thousand..."
Is he talking about miles or kilometers? I always assumed that the odometers on cars in the UK were measure in kilometers?

Here's another one I hadn't seen. This guy is over the moon for this late-model XKR and is mad at himself for overlooking them all these years. Amazing how the X150 flies under the radar for the average Joe. Funny how so many of these more recent car review guys are now so shocked at the car that they declare with certainty that it will become a classic. Welcome to the party boys! You have some catching up to do!

I an an ENGLISHMAN and not a BRIT but am able to answer your question.

We still use MILES for distance but buy our fuel in LITRES. The speedometer is calibrated in MILES PER HOUR and the odometer shows total MILES. We drive on the LEFT side of the road so our sword arm or lance faces an approaching attacker.

Damn. Yah know, that actually does make sense.
Even modern weaponry would be easier (for most, except lefties) to use from their ‘rusty steeds’.

it’s also why your wine glass/goblet should be on your left when at the table, to keep your sword hand free,
lefties are disposable, we used to burn those in the Middle Ages

We had a good run of left handed presidents over the last 50 years:

Barack Obama
Gerald Ford
Ronald Reagan
George H.W. Bush
Bill Clinton

Both systems made it easier to pick up archer's from the side of the road.

I appreciate that would be crucial to a Hastings man.

We reenacted it every year, there was always one brat who used metal instead of painted cardboard for the arrowhead.

So how do you measure gas mileage? When I was in Italy they'd do kilometers per liter and that was a pain to recalculate to MPG.
Also... "We drive on the LEFT side of the road so our sword arm or lance faces an approaching attacker." This is how road rage starts, Graham.
(seriously, I will never drive in England. To this day, every left turn gives me a heart attack.)

Quick Reply: He bought a high mileage XKR!
