Heated steering wheel...a significant plus?
My F-Pace has remote "climate" activated from the Jaguar InControl app on my iPhone. It's been very useful when the vehicle was covered in frost after recent cold, damp nights in England. Jaguar engineers must have a similar mindset to me because "climate" starts the engine, turns on the front and rear screen heaters and the door mirror heaters but NOT the heated steering wheel or climate seats. A shame X150 ended before this feature was developed and introduced.

Heated steering wheel is a must have on any car it's available on. Jaguar started off with a single setting on my XJ and that was a poor choice. Got so hot, I could barely touch the wheel. By the time of the XK, it thankfully had two settings. Heated windshield is another one I'd look for on the XK. Also worth it even if it's used on a few times.
I think I echo 2/3 of people in the thread when I say the heated steering wheel is nice, and in fact probably more directly useful and warming than heated seats.
However, if ordering a new car, I probably wouldn't pay for the option to have a feature that is only valuable 1/4 of the year and could be replaced by wearing gloves.

I didn't get a heated wheel on my F250 because it would necessitate the next-higher package group at $5500. Dang, I sure am sad about it whenever I get into my truck though. I'd have done it for a grand however.

I use mine when over 100F (38C) and the top down (always) so I don't need the AC on.
With the top down? Damn. I think my over/under is 80F with the top down.
Also, and not to change the thread, but everyone understands that the XK's have COOLED seats, and not simply VENTILATED seats, yes? Huge difference and don't let any of those "ventilated seats" MBZ people tell you otherwise.

I've used this feature when gently cooking driving along the A7 next to the Mediterannean. A cooled steering wheel would have been useful.

......... and also remember there's replaceable filters on them.

Oh and BTW, and I totally forgot about this from a few years ago and will start a new thread about it, but I think I understand why the filter in the seatback is black and not white (and it ain't charcoal)...
Hi George, my XK came with heated seats and heated Steering wheel. I moved 3 years ago from Miami to Houston. In Miami, it made no sense, I literally never used it. In Houston, during some very cold days, I just use both features until the engine warms and the heating starts blowing hot air, then I turn everything off. So in my opinion, it's a 10-minute future, not sure if I would pay a penny for it. It might be different for people living in the North East of course.
