HELP!! 2007 XKR ,,, SC tapping sound
Hi Guys , I`m after any advice , I`m not much of a petrolhead so hopefully someone will be able to point me in the right direction , I`ve got a 2007 XKR anf love it to bits , I only do around 3k miles per year , but in last few days its started making a tapping noise , it sound loike its coming from the supercharger , the tapping increases and decreases with the revs of the engine , its not coming from the front pulley (I had these changed around a year ago due to the "chirping" and had the 10% smaller pullet fitted) it runs like a dream other than this tapping in the last few days , I`ve tried to attach a very short video to show the sound , hopefully its successfully uploaded

There was another thread on here where someone had a similar noise and it wasn't the supercharger... it was a waterpump pulley or something banging around.
With the engine off see if you can move/yank any of the components on the main belt and supercharger belt. I would start with that then run the engine and see if you can visually see anything moving/clanking. Put the hood in service mode to get a better view.
You can use the stethoscope/screwdriver to ear method to further pinpoint where the noise is coming from.

hmmm…. who replaced the pulley and how did they do it?
If you’re not mechanically experienced go to a shop that understands the Eaton supercharger. Even a Ford or Chevy shop would be able to assist if you think the Jaguar path wouldn’t suit you. But I’d go to my Jag shop or Indy…
