Default Help determine the source/cause of noise. XKR 5.0 2014

Hi everyone, I'm newbie here, although I've owned a Jag XKR 4.2 for 6 years...

Anyways, I decided to take XKR 5.0 2013+
And I found one with 52k miles on the clock. MY 2014. Manufactured date: 10/2013. The current owner sent me a video with an engine start up...
Here it is: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bwE...usp=drive_link
There is some kind of rustling/ticking noise, I haven't ever heard either on my 4.2 or any other start up videos of XKRs 5.0 over the internet. And this sound is my main concern.

Could you, guys, please help me with it's identification? Is this anything major? I'm trying to figure out if I should just take this car in for a pre-sell inspection or if this is a really bad sign and I'd rather look for another cat.
The records say that alternator and brake vacuum pump were replaced. Owner also says that water pump was replaced.

I've tried to find something similar on the forum, but unfortunately didn't find anything that could help.

Hard to tell much from the vid, I can just hear a rustling/ticking noise but it is fairly faint.
The AJ133SC is a noisy ticky rattly thing at the best of times, mainly the tick/rattle of the high pressure fuel injectors because GDI.
The noise I can just hear does not sound much like the common SC coupler rattle, that is far louder and more irregular.
Lots of other possible causes of rattles such as a worn SC belt tensioner, worn HP fuel pump(s), worn SC or accessory belt idler pully, worn AC condenser pulley and so on.
First step, if you can, would be to remove the SC drive belt and then see how it sounds.

Thanks for the clue. Just in case, this noise is heard most clearly while dashboard is recorded. And obviously there is no such noise on the youtube video example in the same "scene".

But, what kind of idiot revs an engine (although not horribly high in this case) on cold start-up? Can't wait fifteen seconds for open (closed? I can't remember) loop to end?
Agree with OZ though, GDI engines sound like that. Nothing obvious otherwise.

It sounds like a belt but can't be sure. I'd want more detail or an on "site" inspection before buying.

Thanks for the replies.
Cee Jay, can't agree more on the revs on a cold start, that's stupid idea, but it's just an example I found on youtube Anyway, removed it from the original post to avoid confusions
McJag, I'm definitely going to make an inspection before taking it, it never hearts.

Today the owner dropped off the car at the dealer for a pre-purchase inspection. Here is what they found:
- front control arm bushing starting to crack
- oil leaking at front bell housing, unsure if transmission or engine
- left rear shock leaking
- rust noted on undercarriage
- low battery light coming on
- slight ticking noise from engine

Do you think any of this list is a red flag? And I rather look for any other cat? (this one has 52k miles on the clock)

For me, the oil leak and ticking noise would put me off. The subframes all rust (at least in Europe) and the suspension bushes wear, which can either be pressed out and renewed or the complete control arm needs to be changed. All the original rubber boots ( ball joints etc) are made from God knows what but crack and perish.
These cars need to be kept on a trickle charger, they drain the battery pretty quickly, which results in a lot of strange error codes and weird behaviour. Personally I'd steer clear.

I got the same tick on my 12 XKR - nobody can ever tell me what it is…. Or they say it’s the high pressure fuel system…. Drives me nuts!

You want to talk about NOISE??? My wife's '23 Lexus RX hybrid is obnoxiously loud all the time, even when the engine is off. Pumps, fans, whatever the heck... I don't even know. I thought electric cars were supposed to be quiet. Egads.

Could be the high pressure fuel pump. Could be this:https://robisonservice.blogspot.com/...er-jaguar.html Plenty of threads in this forum on this subject.
