Help with radio on 07 xk
Hi im new to this site i just bought a 2007 xk and for some reason the radio wont work. At first the battery was dead so I replaced it soon as I plug in the battery the radio turns on with the screen saying the "jaguar" logo and you can hear the disc changer working and all of a sudden it goes out. but when I unplug the radio anD plug it back in it does the same thing and then goes out. HELP!!! PLEASE!

Welcome to the forum, sorry it had to be a problems that brought you here first...
Batteries are the Achilles heel of our XK. I recommend you search our forum for many a conversation about them.
That said, make sure the one you replaced it with is fully charged and your charging system is in good working order. From there, others with similar issues will be of more help than I.
Hope you see a quick fix!

Could you elaborate on what you mean by "unplug the radio" and "plug it back in"? Are you referring to the wire harness going into the radio in the dash?

I'm confused as to your problems, and what you've done.
Those photos looks like the trunk (boot), looking forward ??
If so, that's the navigation System DVD player you've removed !
(the CD changer is built-in to the head unit).
And I suspect you'll cause all kinds of system problems to the CAN (vehicle network) without that.
My suggestion: start over !
- Disconnect the battery
- Replace the Nav unit. Make sure all the connectors are in *tight*
- Fully-charge the battery, then re-connect it
- (you'll need to reset the window positions, the parking brake and maybe the radio stations)
- try it again !
If still problems, read the OBD codes using a reader, or have Autozone or a Dealer do it.
You (and us) need more information to track these error(s) down.
Good Luck

Well, I have no specific knowledge, or experience, with the Navigation System. It does appear to be tightly-integrated with the audio and display systems, as it is standard fitment. I suspect you can't just 'jump it out' of the cars network.
The Workshop manual mentions (Section 419-07):
>> The navigation system is controlled from the integrated control panel and the Touch Screen Display (TSD). Control signals from the touch screen display are sent on the MOST ring to the navigation computer. The navigation computer uses a dedicated GVIF bus to transmit its video signals to the TSD.
<<
I have a parts manual that list the Nav computer as part#C2P20205 and $1860, but you should verify that with other sources.
I did see a couple on EBay recently for $650-750US. Try searching 'Parts and Accessories' for completed listings and 'Jaguar Navigation'.
You're getting into fairly complex areas of the cars electronic communications network. You might consider getting all the manuals and technical info you can for your car ('JagDocs.com' have a lot) OR turn it over to a specialist or a Dealer.
Good Luck - I always say that, but I think you'll especially need it !
