Default Help replacing conv sliding cover

Hi, off to next project. I don’t know the name of this part. It’s the sliding plastic cover that extends when the convertible top is stowed. I remember a tread of this about a year ago but could not find it. If anyone has experience with this repair, your input is very much appreciated.

I had this happen to mine it jumped track and broke string. If shouls move smoothly back and forth if it doesn't you have to manually with your hand put it back in the right track. I then tied the string together , think I used a fishing swivel and hooked it back on the bolt. You can see this if you stop your top when putting it up halfway.Fiddle around with it and look at the other side when your top lid is halfway up to see what it looks like.

The downloadable Workshop Manual in the "sticky" thread at the top of the first page of this Forum may be helpful.

Hi, I had this problem in May 2017 and started a thread:

Conv. rr qtr trm sliding panel questions..

hope you can find it...

The repair went well and cost only time, it is a poor design and our roof usually stays down, but it does still work ok
Good luck
