The slats was all this car needed on the exterior. I believe the slats are now available on both the coupe and roadster. To convert the earlier mesh grill Vantage is a new bumper cover and associated parts.
But again and/or still, I am in a quandary. Evidently I don't want the V8 DB11, which is the only engine in the Volante, so that's out.
SO, I'm back at either waiting at least three years, or going ahead with the older teched Vanquish.
Or keep my XKR for awhile anyway, as it's really a nice car.
In the new world where folks are crying income inequality- pulling up a Bentley may be counterproductive and expensive.
The understated charm of a XK suddenly has renewed purpose.
There is only one way for an American to move on from an XKR, and that is to drive a REAL American icon! There's only one that cuts the mustard. It's been the top dog for decades and all of us relish it from our childhood. Nothing else even comes close.

If you're buying a Bentley today, might as well do it right with a Mulsanne.
I guess I'm just not smitten with the design elements of any of the new crop of supercars. There's just too much plant on stuff, no sleekness, no sensuality, no "jaguarness" to them. I'd take a Ford GT40, a Miura, or even my Pantera before I'd spring for a McLaren, any modern Lambo, and many Ferraris.

I remember when they had the Grand Opening of the first A&P Supermarket in Los Angeles, around the corner from where I lived, we walked over and saw the Weinermobile in the flesh and Little Oscar as well, what a great day that was.
I miss the '50's, when I was a kid without a care in the world and was surrounded by some of the greatest American cars ever made. I realize now that I was living in the Golden Era of automotive design and didn't give it a second thought. If only I knew then what I know now.
Every couple years a Weinermobile would participate in a parade in my home town when I was a kid. They’d toss weiner-whistles from the window to the kids. Those were cool, drove our parents crazy.
