Thought I’d chime in. I understand. I had the same, a damaged track, and yeah, it’s part of the whole rear side interior panel, and replacing the whole thing is far too expensive. If you are good with tools and have a place to work, hopefully the above link will help. Good luck!
@Elhajj33, nice job! I like how you repaired the cable, very clean. BTW, where did you buy the crimper and barrel crimps? They look like they would be handy for a number of jobs.
@Elhajj33 - Excellent!! Thanks very much for posting this. I have the same problem with Driver side flap and was planning to have an automotive body shop repair it. After reading this; I ordered the crimping tool, sleeves and leader wire from Amazon. Should be a much cheaper solution.
Before I attempt my situation I have a few questions. 1. I can see my flap down in the slot also a wire. I will attach a picture or two. 2. Should I be able to move my flap readily becauseitdoesnot move freely and appears notin track. 3. Do I try to move my flap until it freely moves. 4, this wire I see is not the same as yours? 5. My top still works ...can I stop it part way?
you need to take a couple more photos, maybe without the flash since that is washing out some details.
point your phone in the direction of the arrow and upload those, there is little bunk where a cable needs to wrap around. Then we can direct you better.

Thanks for the fix pics. I couldn’t find any ideas before, so when I put the top down, I just pull it back as far as I can with my fingers, then hook a curved end of a straightened paper clip around the hidden end and pull it until it locks in place.
