You'll note they make no comparison the the RE-11, which would dominate over them in several of the categories... So "best" is still relative only when comparing to a limited few....

I prefer Dunlops on trucks, not cars. I put Hankook EVO V12's on recently and LOVE them ... much less $$ than the Michelin's too.

I have a set of these on my wife's car. They start out pretty good but wear down pretty fast. They perform much better warm But it takes time for them to warm up. They were a good buy when they were cheap. Now that they are pretty pricey I won't buy another set.

Default Thanks Guys... Will provide update in a few days

Thanks to Scott and all for the advice on the Michelin Pilot Super Sports.... I did the research and found that they are far superior (in terms of ratings) to the OEM Dunlops and even the Pirellis.... Ordered some yesterday, having them installed today!! Cant wait... I will provide feedback after a weekend of top-down vehicular debauchery =) Thanks again !

There are two types of Michelin Pilot Sports, A/S, an all season and PS2. Which type is best for the XKR? The A/S appears to provide better tire wear and ride while the PS2 is slightly better in handling and braking.

PS2 is the summer tire, (Performance Summer) not intended to be driven in snow or ice conditions, A/S is the All Season tire, better suited to year round driving conditions.

PS2's here on my 2010 XKR Coupe. Like them and am getting better wear than I did when I had PS2's on my MBZ E55AMG. So far ~7k miles and still another ~50% left. Oddly also, mine are wearing faster in the rear than the front. Must be all those 0-60 practice runs

Looking for another option when these wear out. The PS2 has been out a while and there must be something more advanced by now.

Thoughts?

Actually, there's a 3rd -- the Pilot Super Sport. It's neither of the two mentioned above. They're slightly cheaper than the PS2s. At least they were last month when I bought a set.

The Pilot Super Sport. By all accounts, it's the best tire Michelin has ever produced...and might be the best tire that anyone has ever produced.
