I'm a happy camper. My OCD overpowered my dislike of cold weather and went out to the car and gave it a try. I followed Ken's post and the first 3 times, the armrest just slid down but on the 4th try, it worked. Thank you! Small annoyance but one less to think about.

I love the MB W208 chassis. I was window shopping for a CLK 55 AMG. I decided against it though. Too big a mechanical risk I felt.

My son bought a 55 amg clk with 180,000 km without accidents.
We did all the maintenance of the gearbox and the rest of the fluids and filters, we also painted it completely since the paint was original and looked old.
The car works perfectly in addition to being original as it left the factory.
It does not consume oil and is very fine.
Mechanically it is very easy to repair and maintain and the rubber of ball joints and suspension arms have not had to be changed.
It is a very reliable car.

The central glove compartment opening system has 2 compartments and is very easy to open as it has 2 handles on the front and each one opens its compartment.
Here you can see the difference in ergonomics from one car to another.
But I insist .... The jaguar xk is very beautiful ... 🤗🤗🤗

One of the few issues I had with my XKR is that the center arm rest wasn't far forward enough for comfort...I never knew it moved until I read this thread. I took it out this weekend before the snow hit, with my fully adjusted arm rest! So much better.

Thanks to the forum for another bit of XKR knowledge.

Pat
