Default Howling sound of the wind in my Jag. Help :)

I drive a 2010 Jaguar XK convertible and...

> Whenever I brake from driving slow I hear the wind whining down in a howling/whistling sound. This sound happens when roughly slowing down at 30km to standing still.

> Also when I hear turn up the fan of the AC very high I hear wind whining/howling.

> Sounds seems to be coming from my back left on the drivers side.

> When I open the window ever so slightly it's gone.

Seems like air pressure or venting problem but the garage can't find it. Ideas would be much appreciated as it's getting on my nerves . Thank you.

have you tried taping up around the back quarterglass? It might be a tiny gap in the seal with something flapping inside it. One of our offices gets the most bizarre shriek when the wind blows a particular way

Default tape

Will try this weekend to tape the windows and see if that's the culprit. Thanks!

I taped the driver side window but no change. I sat on my seat backward and stuck my head in the back. The sounds seems to float in the cabin, a clear high pitched whistle. Driving me crazy. suggestions?

This is going to sound a little odd, but... an old mechanics' trick for locating noises is to use a plastic tube or rubber hose. One end placed against the ear, the other used like a stethoscope to pinpoint the source. Obviously you can't do this if you're driving, but if someone else can drive or you have a willing passenger, it's worth a try.

Update:
The blower whistles louder when airflow is increased from the AC. It seems pressure builds up that can’t escape. When I open the trunk the sound is gone. It seems it’s caused by the air outlet openings from the passenger compartment to the trunk. The garage is thinking of some creative solution that won’t hinder roof operations. Anybody ideas or feedback?
