no, I have sold the NSX although the first buyer gave me problems, I put it back on ebay and it sold in less than 2 hours. This guy got a great deal!

Sandra Malone was my sales person, she had to stay late since I was late getting there but she didn't rush me and made sure I knew what I was doing before I left. Great lady. They had the car waiting for me with a placard in a side showroom all my itself and a red carpet leading to it. Very classy and cool effect.

Evoking: I love the XKR. It is very different from the NSX, more power and more luxury ride. I really glad i made the change. The differences are there, in the NSX you look right at the road, with the Jag you see the nice hood in front but it will take getting used to as I still need to learn the edges of the car. The Jag is a much larger car as well. I will say that on a ride to Jacksonville (about 2 hours) the Jag was awesome to drive and ride in. I plan to take the Jag to the track the first week in May so I will get a real feel for it there. I have been tracking for 11 years and instructing for more than 4. I do plan to drop down a class when I run to get a feel for the Jag without worrying about holding up the other guys. I also don't want passing in corners without a point until I know the Jag better. I doubt I will ever push the Jag as hard as I pushed the NSX. In the NSX I upgraded the brakes, suspension, slicks, harness's and such. I won't do all that in the Jag, I don't want to make any modifications. Now that I am 50 I want to enjoy the car at the track without pushing it.

 

Had to laugh reading this because I found it so true. Having that sloping hood left me guessing for some time where it all ended up there!
It actually had me thinking about those "old man" metal feelers all around the front and wondering if I could convince myself they were whiskers!

Needles to say, a few parking blocks taught me quickly enough.....grrrrr

Yeah its surprising how long the nose is beyond the part you can see. Way more than my old-shape XKR.

My car has a forward radar operated by one of the buttons in the fog light button/dimmer control switchpack. Its off by default. I'm guessing it re purposes the adaptive cruise radar so maybe only cars with adaptive cruise have it?

They don't describe well its intended use in the manual but I guess its for alerting you in case you're distracted when the car in front suddenly brakes or whatever, or maybe its for use in fog.

Has anyone found it works reliably as a (front) parking detector? I think Jag do fit front parking detectors (like the back ones) but only in some markets and as an extra option. I don't have them but having something as a safeguard would be nice before I inevitably ding the nose on something one day.

The radar system is a separate device not related to parking sensors

My 07 has the rear parking sensors (the nickle sized circles on the rear bumper) and had the option of front sensors, which the original owner did not get (So I don't know if it even has buttons anywhere on the dash clusters).

The radar or Adaptive cruise has two functions. The first is obvious when cruise control is active it maintains a set distance between you and the car in front of you.
However like you surmised, if you are not using cruise, the radar then can be asked to calculate the speed at which something is approaching the nose of your car, and alert you of a possible collision. I see this mostly when people pull off the freeway and hit the brakes. My car sees I am still at speed and the car "almost" in front of me has reduced speed quickly. It sound a beeper to alert me to the rapidly closing gap. I kinda like it as it has one at least one or two occasions brought my attention to a stopping car that I had not yet noticed myself. Then again, when trailing my buddy through the canyon twisties it got rather annoying.

Here are pictures of the car as well of my wife and myself. This was our anniversary and we are about to go to dinner. My son helped by taking the pictures. This is our 29 wedding anniversary and 33 years since we met on St Patrick's day in savannah. I didn't have anymore green shirts as i had worn them all week and earlier for the parade downtown.
