No worries bud, I wouldnt expect someone that owns a 2003 S-Type to appreciate what a high powered blower sounds like.

My winter beater SUV makes a similar noise when it's -20 or colder out. As I was playing the OP's videos, SWMBO thought it was someone else asking what's wrong.
Having BTDT, I cannot associate loud supercharger whine with 'performance' vs. a nice exhaust note from a rumpety rump cam.
But again, each to his own. No offence intended.

As are XJs with low power steering fluid levels.

Some may associate "rumpety rump cammed exhaust note" to a car that's on misfire.
But, if you don't like the whine, that's fine.....just matter of preference.

Very true. I was very proud of my rumpety rump through headers V8 powered sporty car back in the 70s. On the first date with a new girlfriend she asked if I'd like her father to have a look under the hood to see if he could fix it.

Thank you, we are the extreme gear head type of people, but trust me there are MANY more lurking here. I've learned a lot from this forum, and I've been a car nut as long as my memory goes back.
I "should" have my car back when I return from this business trip Friday and will record some videos for you over the weekend depending on how this trip goes . I have no idea what the car sounds like form the outside but inside since the mods you can definitely hear a whistle but not nearly as loud as yours.

Great minds...
Reminds me of the Mad Max Interceptor (Ford Falcon XB GT with Weiand 6-71 blower). Here's a US replica in action:

Sounds something like the fan belt on my old truck when it slips. You need to get some of those neon LED undercarriage lights to go with it. When you grow up and look back at this you'll laugh! You should post this on the GTR forum, the boys will have a good laugh!

I'm 28. No one on the planet can deny that every head will turn in amazement of 500+hp of supercharger whining under load. Heres my STS-V:

awesome! It sounds like a Tesla with BMW’s digital engine cabin noise!

I've had two XKRs now, a 4.2 and a 5.0. These cars have big, brash engines and raucous exhausts (especially if you do them right), they're definitely meant to be heard as much as seen, providing a feedback loop to the driver. The 4.2 has a wonderful supercharger whine that's not nearly as loud as that STS but you can still hear it, and when you're putting your foot down, it adds to that visceral feedback mechanism of the various sound and feeling inputs of the acceleration. It's missing on the 5.0 and I'd love to get it back. If you want a silent GT car, get a Tesla.
