Default iPhone 6 connectivity issue 2011 XKR

Recently the iPod port through the supplied cable with lightning adapter stopped working properly. The vehicle will see the phone device, but will only play for a second then stop. When I hit the play button, it begins to play then stops immediately. Any advice out there?
I realize the later models will play via Bluetooth, but the 2011 needs this cable.

chances are the cable going into the phone may look like it's connected fully but is only inserted about 90%. I would pull the cable and re insert it into the phone, it should fix the problem immediately.

Check the other end of the cable where it plugs into the car, too. It may also be worth going to a dealer & see if you can try another cable - one or two people have had issues with the cable. That may be because it's so stiff and inflexible that it can get bent in odd ways, leading to breaks in the conductors.

jaguar dealer service told me the iPhone 6 is not compatible with the supplied cable on the 2011 XKR. Some connectivity issue that Jag issued a bulletin to dealers on.
Anyone else been able to get their iPhone to work in a 2011 with the cable for iPad?

Mine is a MY11 (sold late 2010) - it works fine with my iPhone 6 using a Jag cable and Apple Lightning adapter. I cannot guarantee that it's the original cable, though; I'll try to remember to check if there's a part number on it when I'm next in the car.

Just a thought - what iOS version are you running? I'm still on 8.2, keep forgetting to upgrade. Maybe 8.3 causes the problem...

I'm not sure, never had to do it - I suspect Google is your friend for that.

Here's an idea instead of having to plug in your phone every time you get into your car, then UNplugging it when you leave... Get an appropriately sized flash drive and put ALL your music on it. Stick the flash drive into the USB port right next to the iphone port and Leave it there. No cables, no connecting problems, just all your music all the time. I have nearly 9000 songs on mine, about 38 GBs in size.

My iphone 6 used to work with Ios8.2 and not 8.3. for my music. My flashdrive works intermittently.

just updated to iOS 8.4, still not working. upon starting to play, music will go into pause mode almost immediately. Anyone out there have any idea for a solution. My local dealer is of no help.

The only option to make an iphone pair correctly every time is to throw it in the trash and buy pretty much ANY Android phone. All my Androids have paired perfectly, and the daughter's iphone just won't pair, ever (No, she can't DRIVE the car, borrowed her phone to check).

I came to the Forum today specifically to check if anyone knows of a fix for this. I have an iPhone 6 Plus and a 2013 XKR and cant get my music on my phone to work through tune2air or direct cable into iPod port. Same 1 second playback to pause situation everyone else has. It's driving me bonkers having to listen to the F0CKlNG radio!

I have a 6 on iOS 8.3 that's fine, but my car is a MY11. You could try a reset of the iPod interface module (pull & replace Fuse 24 in the rear-seat fusebox) and the audio system (Fuse 21, same place)

Still no dice for me and my iPhone 6 Plus. Tried pulling and replacing the two fuses, still the same result. I even went the lengths to update my iPhone to a beta version of iOS 9, still the same result.

This is getting annoying to say the least.

The fix is to pester Apple until they make their gadgets work.

Er, I suppose that's another fix but a mite unattractive for some.
