Default It's Nice to keep up with 600hp cars. Yet another drag racing event!

So our last drag racing event of the year at Irwindale CA. Temperatures were around 63 , track preparation was pretty decent I did not slip at all but could only get four runs due to track shut down for 1.5 hours because of an accident , not enough time to try launching harder. We had a pretty even competition in our group. 3 cars hit 8 seconds flat , a 2012 CTS-V with intake modification , supposed to add 20 horsepower to his 550hp stock. I thought intake was a gimmick but track times showed differently . He picked up a consistent 1- 1.5 mph higher then me were previously we ran identical trap. Another car that also hit eight flat was 2013 650i which technically should be called an Alpina b6. It has an Alpina b6 tune, Dinan intercoolers, downpipes, and upgraded larger turbos. Aprox 600hp . I did manage to beat the 650i twice with times of 8.06 vs 8.08 and second time he actually got a better time but still lost because my reaction was slightly better and 8.08 vs 8.03 .
I did loose to a CTS-V by a little 8.04 vs 8.1
CTS-V and 650i we're trapping identical 91 miles per hour I was trapping 88.5 . Pretty amazing that my previously 416 hp car is keeping up with these 570-600hp cars. I did beat my previous record twice this night by .02 and .01 sec.

It's not as easy as I thought it would be to get ppl to come out to race and since have only tuned 2 xk so far not that much to work with. I would be happy to provide a discounted price for the tune if they actually take the car to a dragstrip to see results .

Always found that odd with the xk and f type range that the higher spec'd vehicles only tend to go out to the dragstrip unlike with other manufactors ie Audi S5 , GTI, S3 .

Well the challenge is on looking forward to a incentive to get myself back out to the track again.

my incentive has always been competing with my own self and beating my previous records, keep modifying and improving the car and enjoy the journey in the process.
But I might do a special on the tune for xk xkr guys only for those that want to take car to Dyno or track
