I took my car to the Long Beach Grand Prix this year and participated in the Mothers exotic car event. We had private parking at the track and I was selected to take my car for a lap on the track behind a pace car, which was really fun. There was a great turnout of cars for this event including ferraris, lambo's, Porsches and 3 mclaren mp4-12c's! Even with this lineup of cars, my car had one of the biggest crowds around it all day. Lots of pics and videos taken of it (and a lot of hand prints on my windows!). I'm sure that since the Xkr-s is new and there aren't many of them, that is a factor, but I was still surprised at the attention it drew (and draws everyday). I'm coming from a 911 turbo, which really flies under the radar. I'm not a huge fan of getting attention, but it's cool that others like and appreciate this car.

I saw your xkr-s there. It was the only xk. Its white with black interior & I think it was parked next to a black 911? Beautiful. I admired it. I saw 2 Lamborghini Aventadors & 3 McLarens. Great cars. Fun weekend of racing also.

 

Yes, that was my car- thanks for the compliments. LB GP is one of my favorite weekends of the year. I haven't missed it in over 20 years.

I'm not surprised it drew attention. What a beast! It's almost exotic. At less than 140K, its a better buy than an exotic.
Don't sweat the attention. Enjoy it.
