Default Jag Logo Wheel Caps Flying off my 3 day old 07 XK

After a couple of months of intensive searching I bought a 2007 XK convertible. I picked it up in West Palm Beach, Florida and I'm now driving it back to my home in VA. And now, we inturrupt this dream with a dose of reality: I'm about half way home and already I've lost two of the wheel caps.

Haven't hit anything, no potholes, mostly highway driving.

I have the 07 with the Luxury Package 19" ten spoke Carelia wheels.

Is there anything I should do to secure the remaining two?

Is there anything special that should be done to make sure the new ones (when I get them) stay on?

Anything to know when buying replacements?

Any advice will be appreciated.

Tony

I'd try wrapping where they click into with plumber's tape before putting back on. Check ebay for replacements.

Wasn't there a TSB/recall about the center caps coming loose - sounds like your car didn't get the fix.

There was, in fact, a recall on XK and XJ cars re improperly manufactured wheel badges. It expired in 09 (I think) which leaves Havebook SOL.

Quality replacements avail from Welsh Enterprises in various colors. Be careful about EBay badges. Some I've seen are way overpriced.

I have had a few with cracked retaining "ears". I repaired them with a tooth pick and "Goop" brand adhesive. The tooth pick is used to hold the ears in extended position while the adhesive cures. Do not glue badge to wheel as it will be destroyed at next tire change.
