The concept car's shifter appears to be identical to mine, except for the color of the leather. Here's mine - polished stainless steel and black leather. I don't know if they're available in other colors.

For $250, I think I'll give it a try. I may even replace the leather with carbon fiber or black lacquer (for wear) and place a silk screen R emblem on top.

To each his/her own as the saying goes. I will add though, the fact that the first production versions followed so closely to the concept is more than unusual.
As I remember it, we were trying to be as careful as possible to not have too much negative effect on Jaguar at the time. That aside, one has to admit that the most significant contribution from Ford was to dramatically improve the TGW reputation of Jaguar. Hopefully, TATA has taken that into account and continues that effort.
I didn't think the concept design could be improved on but am still blown away by what sits in my garage right now. Concepts are meant to inspire the finish product but Callum's version is very nearer a reflection in that respect. As to the finer points, that is why we customize and mod.

There are two things I wish my XK had from the concept:
The integrated metal spoiler design on the concept, as opposed to a plastic piece attached. Unfortunately, that particular shape is extremely expensive and time consuming to properly fold into metal for mass production. The production rear lid can be done in one step, put metal in, stamp, remove final part. The concept's part is a multi step, requiring more production time, and additional die costs.
I also love the concepts tail lights vs production.

I think that the gear shift knob part number is C2P10656 and was available in at least 4 colours:-
LEG - Warm Charcoal
SEP - Caramel
LJK - Slate Blue
JMN - Navy Blue
There was someone selling them for around 20GBP on EBAY a couple of years ago. By the time I bought one he only had Slate Blue left so I had it dyed to match my darker leather.
They are also described as Leather/Aluminium in the parts manual.

There was someone selling them for around 20GBP on EBAY a couple of years ago. By the time I bought one he only had Slate Blue left so I had it dyed to match my darker leather.

The concept and production are a lot closer than what the concept for F Pace and the production car the followed it. In all, I think Jaguar did a go job in relation to the concept (which I don't recall ever seeing until now).
I do wish the Jag had more natural leather colors and more trim (I prefer wood over metal or carbon). The "fall shorts" for me on the XK were limited alignment options, non-finished exhaust/rear valance, not very cool looking brakes.

I like my exposed exhaust tips. I wish they were dual hanging tips on each side.
