Hrm. I had come up with a 45 degree rule for top down motoring. Anything below 45 was too cold for the heaters to keep up with. But that's inspiring. /chuckle

drove the xkrs cabrio and i really didnt feel that much more power than my xkr, at least not 40 grands worth. i just dont see the value in the mark up. 1000 dollars per horsepower is pretty much what it comes out to. putting that aside its a limited numbers car so i guess its not about how fast it is and more about how few there are lol i have the ability to order one locally for next year but only if the price is right. if they try to gouge me with 10k over sticker ill pass. other choices would be the new sl63, m6, vantage, and porsche turbo. as far as looks go, none of them can TOUCH the xkrs, especially in this blue. its gorgeous

I was in a similar position as you, except I was looking for a 997 TT S, until I bought my Xkr-s. remember there are a lot of upgrades in the S, besides the hp- suspension, brakes, rims, exhaust, aero kit, seats, interior. I think the msrp of a Xkr-s is fair, especially when u consider it is in the same range as a loaded 991 S. I would not pay over msrp either. If u r looking for a coupe you can get 1 for msrp now (or a tad under). I bought mine from galpin, which is in your area. Best buying experience I've had. Ask for matthew parsons (sales)- he was great (tell him J.B. referred u). If u are looking for a convertible they are going to be hard to get - only 15 coming to US this yr vs 100 coupes

The only negative is the front license plate. All that snow made me think of Christmas and Jingle Bells… "Oh what fun it is to ride in a <one> 550 horse open sleigh".
