Am I reading the price of this correctly: £10 000? Does that include fitment, painting and UK VAT as well?

Think so as it says in the add
Fitting involves major surgery to the front, the new bonnet tops and wings are blended into the original bonnet. The conversion takes us around 2 months to complete. We will be releasing only a very limited number of these Jaguars and no two will be exactly the same colour. We are currently working on our third car, a 2010 Jaguar XKR which will be released for sale in the coming months. If you can bring your Jaguar XK to Leeds we offer this complete conversion starting at £10,000. Your choice of colour as long as it’s not Ferrari Corsa red, Jaguar British racing green or Aston Martin Mercury silver with ghost stripes...

That's a pretty stylish kit. My concern would be what happens if one were to get into a fender bender. Would the insurance cover the non original parts, will there always be panels available from Grantley. How long would the car be out of service etc.

Rather nice looking kit, it tends to freshen up the aging XK design. I do like the stock front design enough, however, not to be tempted into a major cosmetic change.

The indicated price of the conversion (from 10K) is attractive enough for people to consider going for it.

10K conversion and all they're changing is the front? and they arent even doing it right.

I don't believe it can be done for L10,000. As they say, it requires "major surgery" to the whole front end. They are obviously not using aluminum side panels as the original equipment ones were or the price would be more than double. Have you priced repairs on accident damage to aluminum cars?

I kind of like the styling of the kit as well as the headlights, so I could understand someone spending 10K to do it, but I find the price hard to believe.

All this for £10,000.
Full conversion includes...

Front and rear bumpers
Side skirts
Front wings
Bonnet wing tops
Front lights
Active rear spoiler (see video)
Wing vent strikes
Unique custom made grill
Wheel spacers
New amplified FM antenna

If you get all done painted and fitted for that is astonishing. Have to disagree with you carzaddict, IMO it looks as good as outside anyway as an f-type which i don't think is as good looking as people say. Have driven the s and R version and as the R is a great car the s was nothing special, didn't have the same effect on me as when i first put the throttle down on my xkr. The xk from 2006-2015 in different styles i think has had more longevity than given credit for, even the old xk100 of which i regret selling my one, don't think the f-type its so called replacement will ever do. The xk will always be its nemesis. Imagine walking into a dealer and seeing this for the first time as a new style xk, don't mind the interior as its old but say it had an f-type style interior, i know which one i'd go for and afraid the f-type would be left.

Not liking the front bumper or lights. I do really dig the retractable rear spoiler though.

Have to say for 10 grand , the front is even more refined, must be the best retro fit yet.

Bumper a bit dissimilar, but lights are a near carbon copy of the f-type just a bit darker on the xk

I get it, certainly a bold change. That picture of the red XKR certainly shows a unique car that is not unattractive!

I like it however I feel it too closely resembles the F-type. If Jaguar didnt discontinue the production of the xk and this was their official redesign, would I buy it? Maybe. Personally I wouldn't mod my car that drastically. if I did I feel my xk would lose its identity.

That's what I thought with that proportions. It just doesn't look right.

That's the trouble with a nice kit, its already in your head when you see it , it is a kit, end of.
themorningman you sum it up, when you say "I like it however I feel it too closely resembles the F-type. If Jaguar didn't discontinue the production of the xk and this was their official redesign, would I buy it? Maybe. Personally I wouldn't mod my car that drastically. if I did I feel my xk would lose its identity.

If it was a new production xk , attitudes would be different.
