Default Just bought Plasti Dip need help

Hi I read through all the posts on here re plasti dip but I really need to know how to spray the front grills " do you need to remove them and if so any idea how that is done" can you spray while on the car and if so do you need to get some thing behind to protect the radiator etc. any help would be great as I love to spray it as soon as I hear from someone who has done it. Thanks in advance

The plastidip will break at any line on the car, tape line.. ect... mask behind the grills off to avoid overspray... then just tape off the area you're working on and do multiple light even coats. let it dry and peel off the parts you don't want black.

You'll see how it works... do a test panel before hand if you don't feel comfortable.

I did the trim around my windows to see how I would like them black, but I actually don't like the look the plastidip leaves so I peeled it back off and will do it with normal trim paint.

Thank you for the response but I'm still unclear re iChat to do behind the grill as are you saying tape off behind or have something behind and if so how do I do that as I see no where to put anything behind the grill or do I remove a engine piece to give access?

You might want to put your vehicle details in your signature so people who have your model/year will jump in and help. On mine there is a radiator splash shield on the underside of the front end assembly that allows access. You may have that also. I'd definitely want something behind the grille to block overspray.

Sorry went to attemp to do my grills and noticed there was no way of blocking the spray from behind. Do I really need to get the bumper taking off. Do the two grills pop out by chance? I forget who on here just did it but perhaps he could enlighting me as the engine bay has no place to slide a piece of cardboard down or allow me to tape off the radiator etc. Sorry i just want to get my grills black lol but i dont want to have to remove my bumper as i am not the best at mechanical things.

You don't need to remove anything. Spray away. It's sooooo easy.

Djgold you were the one I was hoping would let me know. You mea. You just let the over spray go on the radiator on the bottom grill. The top grill it seems far back
