Default Keyless entry doesn't work

the preowner told me, there was water in front of the car.
We proofed the steering box and wanted to install a second key. But the obd says always "wrong frequenz".
Now Jaguar Germany tells, only Jaguar dealers are able to repair the system with an old tester.
Everyone the same problem with keyless? Or other way to repair without Jaguar. In Germany Jaguar have prices like Rolls Royce and Bentley.

It can be done if you can find someone with the SDD software. The keys need to be "unpaired" with the old car before they can be paired with a different car. You might want to try to find a brand new key fob, or one that is guaranteed to be unpaired. here is a thread about the programming :

Could it be you have the wrong keyfob?
I read somewhere here that the 2006-2009 (4.2) uses a different frequency to the later cars.

It looks like there are 2 different keys based on VIN Range :
https://parts.harperjaguar.com/searc...ch_str=key+fob

These 2 are 315mhz :
Up to vin b12814 : https://parts.harperjaguar.com/oem-p...itter-c2p17152
Vin b12815 and higher : https://parts.harperjaguar.com/oem-p...k-pad-c2p17155

And this one is 433mhz:
Vin b12815 and higher: https://parts.harperjaguar.com/oem-p...itter-c2p17156

According to this thread, 433mhz is for Europe. Your existing key should be marked with a part number or frequency.
I can't find the part number for a 433mhz transmitter for Vin lower than b12815. Maybe somebody else here can help identify it for you.

The difference here is that the older ones use a single-channel, and the newer ones are 3-channel, I suppose for better security. So it's not a superseded part#, and it is critical to source the correct one.

Bad!
My Jaguar dealer wanted to install the new keys.
But no chance. They mean there must be a break in the cable harness or by a connector.
Does anyone know this problem and where's the place of that break, mostly?
Regards from a dissapointed XK owner.
