Default Kitty arrived

Hey Guys,
Finally arrived after a 6 month hold. Looks as good as described. Will need to apply for temp tags before taking to the dealer for a once over and state inspection.
First question, do these '08 XKs have auto folding outside mirrors? If not, can be manually folded? My '04 XJR had auto-folding when you pushed the locking button twice.
First thing I did, was figure out where the POS battery post was located so I could connect my battery tender. This begs the question....does one have to remove the left rear wheel to gain access to the battery?
Now I feel more like an active participate.....Happy Trails

Access to battery.....

Open trunk...
Remove the shade type partition....
It is on rails, on each side....
This must come out first.....
Look to the rear of the trunk.....
Find 4 plastic thumb screws in each corner....
Twist 4 thumb screws out....
Pull out partition that covers battery....
Both battery and Nav Unit is visible....
Connect your CTEK 3300 Smart Charger to terminals.....
Put back the cover to the battery (partition).....
Replace 4 thumb screws in the corners......
Gently replace the covertible partition (retractable shade) carefully into the rails......
Pull up on front of parttion where handle is located and put in place...
Close trunk....
Convertible top should go down.........
If top does not go down then convertible partiton in trunk is not properly aligned....
Close trunk......

Go for a drive with the top down......

See this thread on how to install CTEK3300 battery smartcharger.....https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...lation-107738/

Hope this helps.

Thanks "RZ" , I'll take a peek at that routine. However off hand, some of your elements, I don't recall seeing namely the thumb screws. I'll take some pics. BTW, being curious, I did pull both Grills. The left (facing the trunk) was where I found the BAT POS term. The right, there was some foam insulation stuff. The grill in front where the top folds? was ajar already, and where the NAV drive was located.
Thanks again for your followup and details....
What this, my tire repair kit that's written on it Use before 2011" WTH? (what the heck). Wow, I hope I don't have a flat after 2011? Two years ago?
Funny stuff...

Congrats on the car....it looks great!

The thumbscrews look more like hooks because they double as mounting hooks for an optional storage net in the boot.

FYI, the foam behind the grill on the right in the boot is a noise insulation cover for the convertible roof pump.

Considering buying a spare donut sized tire and jack set. That's what I did for my 2009 XKR Vert. Found all parts on eBay spending about $300 total. Sure beats the tire inflator.

Yea, OK that makes sense. My XJR, had "hooks" like that. The foam, good info. Thanks! I'll be sniffing and spelunking.....
BTW, reading all of the noise about about battery voltage, I took a reading. After getting her inside, I took a reading, it was 11. 4-5, or so. She seem to crank and fire fine. But, as noted, I added a Bat. Tender.
Happy Motoring...
