I have been looking for ways to add some more power to my stock 07 XK. Sadly it appears the options are very limited. I have a 5.3 and trans laying around collecting dust. I found a company that does LS conversions on Jags but sadly they do not offer any options for the 2007 model year. Has anyone done an LS swap? If so what was needed to make it happen? If not, does anyone have any suggestion's to give the XK a little more get up and go? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

 

@Foxx13, purchase an XKR with the 5.0 litre engine.

Trying to get a GM pushrod lump to work would require a stand alone CAN system to make it run, but nothing else in the vehicle would work.

There is no plausible way to economically get any weird engine/trans into these cars, unless you got a ****-ton of money and want to pay people for custom computers and such. Realistically, probably about $50k to make everything seamless and up to snuff. That's on top of the donor car.

 

I had a feeling that would be the case. Figured id throw it out there and test the waters though. Thanks for the info. Guess I will start my search for an xkr.

 

My newly acquired '08 XKR is my 2nd foray into Jag ownership (and supercharged AJ-V8 ownership, at that). Back in the day I used to have a 2003 Lincoln LS V8. Loved the car but felt it was low on power with not much that could be done about it. Traded it on a 2003 S-type R and was very happy.
