Default Large bush in lower lateral control arm.

Has anyone had the large rubber bush changed by pressing out the old and fitting a new bush?
C2C4437 is the part number for a similar bush listed with Berkshire Jaguar under S Type and XF but its not listed under X150 which seems strange as the arms seem to be the same.
Any info out there?
I have pressed out the old one in readiness.

Old one pressed out.

My old press comes in handy sometimes.

Heat up the arm before you press the new bush in

Yup, and pop the bush in the freezer overnight.

Berkshire Jaguar informed me this morning that the S Type bush is slightly different from the XK bush which I missed on their website.

2 on order with 🤞 as the only ones they have are aftermarket. Mind you, for £48 a pair delivered, its worth a try, after all, some of the OE stuff doesn't last too well.

Oops, forgot that bit

Let us know how you get on, you may not need the press to insert the bush using the heat & freeze method.

It didn't actually seem to make a lot of difference. Once the inside of the bush housing was cleaned, the new bush pressed in quite easily. A vice would press in a new bush but my press was needed to remove the old one.

I’ll go for a test drive in the morning now she is sporting 2 new bushes. 🤞🤞🤞🤞

I am going to pop this RH arm on Ebay with the new main rubber bush and a new shock bush too. If only I had realised that the rubber bushes were available separately I neednt have bought a new arm.

Up on the ramps the tighten the bushes with weight on them. I marked the adjuster cam positions before disturbing the bolts as I had a four wheel alignment check done a couple if months ago. Hopefully she will still run straight!!

Just finished before the light totally disappeared.

I'm surprised as I remember fitting a rear wheel bearing on my Lotus Esprit. It's a large bearing which took a lot of force to get out & no way was I going to reinsert the new one without a large press but after the bearing had spent a night in the freezer & I'd heated the housing with a blowtorch for a good ten minutes it literally dropped back in without touching the sides. A quick cooling with water of the housing before it heated up the bearing & melted all the grease & she was good to go.

PS Nice motor

Perhaps I didnt heat or freeze the parts for long enough.
There was only 0.75mm difference in sizes.

The Rhino ramps are good but they don't allow enough room under the car.
I changed my fence last year so had a few 4”x4” posts lying around.
