Default Leather tape for caramel interior color

I have a 2011 XK with a caramel interior. The driver's seat has developed wear and a small hole. I'm going to buy some "leather repair tape" to cover the area. Does anyone know a company who that makes a very good color match.
Thanks,
Alex

One of the first things I need to take care of is this little spot.
Tape or best match real materials for this.

You won't be satisfied with a DIY repair to a hole in your leather upholstery. I suggest you Google "auto trim and upholstery shops near me" and call them.

Thought the car was in great shape. This looks like maybe water damage? Would have been a red flag in my book.

this is typical of many convertible xks. A bit of water seeps down the inside of window and with time lifts the leather.
I've repaired mine to the best I can and it is not pretty if you really look at it. New leather is the only fix.

@kj07xk @wymjym

The top was replaced 2 years ago. I can’t imagine this small, flat patch would be difficult or expensive to have removed/replaced at an interior place.
Finding a good match would probably be the hardest part.

How do you mate the new patch with the single piece of material that is currently covering the entire side panel?

Good question. I don’t have it so assumed it ended on the inside edge.
Does it continue down into the interior?
Ope Just answered my own question rewatching one of the vids.

I’d guess since it looks like all the material is there, I’d have two options:
- See if an interior shop can stretch it back and glue it.
- Do it right and have the whole piece replaced.

Wider pic of the spot.

I’m guessing this is all the same piece of pleather.

Problem is , stretching will change the texture.
Hope you come up with a solution.
