Default Lock Down Mode help needed

Apparently in checking the fuses on my fuse panel I put my 08 XKR into lockdown mode (ruinning lights on and won't repspond to anything) when I put my fob in the slot it took it and kept it. I tried disconnecting the battery and also shorting the two disconnected battery leads together for a few seconds...neither worked. I have plenty of power at the battery as I have it on a charger.
I am thinking when I checked the fuse to either the Keyless vehicle module or the passive anti theft it somehow went wacko and appers to be in shut down mode...
So now comes the $10,000 question...how can I get this thing going again without sendiong the damn thing in for Jaguar service...
Thanks
Guy

Why were you checking the fuses in the first place? Were you pulling them out to check or checking with a meter? When you push the start button does anything happen at all?

Well...to make a long story short I got it to work again. And BTW it would do absolutely nuthin...period...notta when it locked down. It may well have been the cluster as suggested (Thanks for the responses)...After many different tries of different things I simply pulled all of the fuses again (in reverse order of before...hoping upon hope that it was the order of power removal that created the problem of lock up) and the cluster could have very well been the fix as I believe it is in that fuse block on the driver side (I don't have the fuse list in front of me). Ahhhh...the wonderous world of Jag electronics...I need a drink.
