While cleaning out my MAFs and air boxes, I found it interesting to see that 1 of the strainers (or turbulators or whatever you call them) below the sensor is not aligned the same way as the other (see pic). The one on the left is almost blocking the sensor while the one on the right seems to allow for free flow. This can't be normal, which one is oriented correctly??? Could this be the source of my P0101?? I sure hope so....
I don't know the answer, but one way to find out is to realign the left side to correspond to the right and see what happens. If that doesn't work, put the left side back to where it was and realign the right side to correspond to the left side.
A no-cost possible fix that's worth a try.
If neither works, you're no worse off than before I gave you bad advice. At the cost of your time and maybe saving some $$$.
Yeah, looks like the one on the left is clocked 180` out. Should be simple enough to see if it makes a difference. Not much room under the cover to wire it wrong though so who knows.
If you assume that no one else removed these then it would be how the factory assembled it. Another reason may be a clearance problem or a wire length with the OEM loom.
The photo shows them at an angle which may be misleading. By lining the camera centered over the port misalignment will be more evident.
Yeah the angle I took the picture from was not that great, but I assure you there are way off from each other. They are already disassembled so I won't take another picture. Maybe when I re-assemble them.
