Well I would hope not to attend your funeral anytime soon. I have driven it on a closed road track. Got to 140 mph on straight and simply a joy on the corners. Truly a wonderful car making an adequate driver appear better than I was

Nothing to do with the car, it’s the wife that would be my demise.

Nice XKR. Here's the link:

For the same asking price, you could buy this 2009 XKR Portfolio with Alcon brakes:

I love that color. First saw it on an ‘07 xk coupe, then an ‘06 VDP that I tried to buy.

A week ago I brought home an ‘03 VDP, just under 30,000 miles, quartz exterior and charcoal interior. Just put on new front akebono Ceramic pads and rotors, had brakes bled and u-joints lubed. Doing coolant and PS fluids next. It was a one owner, dealer serviced car, but I wanted to start with a clean slate. It has the beloved grace, space and pace. I’d have preferred the 4.2 engine but just couldn’t find anything decent within 1k miles.

I found after much research that I was so used to sedans that I was a tad uncomfortable with an XK if either body type. At least I had to find out if we were made for each other and the answer, at least at this point, is sadly no.

I have a 2009 XKR 4.2, brilliant vehicle with (touch wood) no serious issues to date. Alcon brakes now need of attention though..... not looking forward to disc cost.

Well yah, but it’s not a convertible, nor is it emerald fire green.

You may still be able to get them for cheap like I did! See this 2016 thread from Forum member jahummer:
