Phone compatibility
Hi folks. I have a 2007 XK - and my previous Android phone - whilst it would connect and dial and receive calls - it wouldn't show anything but garbage for the phone book. This made me get an iPhone - which worked perfectly.
I hear that in the latest version of Android (KitKat) they have changed their Bluetooth programming and it should now work correctly. Can anyone confirm this? Need a new phone - don't really want another iPhone.
PS - yes I know that Jaguar have a compatibility page on their website, but it seems that they are no longer testing new phones for my year of XK.
Thanks folks!

I dont know about the 2007, but in my 2010/2011 the samsung galaxy note 3 works perfectly, though I had to fiddle with the phone settings (help from various forums) because at first it dropped out.
Thanks for the reply - the later variants of the XK had a firmware update - and they have always worked fine with Android phones.
Just got confirmation from another forum that Android 4.4.2 *doesn't* work with a 2007 XK.
I'll try Windows Phone next then...they are going pretty cheap.

I used to have the same issue in my '08XK with an Android phone. It is not the phone, it is Jaguar. We went back and forth on this issue on these forums over the years but, Jaguar would not issue the proper update to make Androids show the phone book correctly. One way to get around it is to do a voice activated call on your phone which then uses the bluetooth connections to the car properly.
My 3 present Jaguars all work fine with my Galaxy S4.

I had a problem keeping Galaxy Sr connected to my 12 vert. A t & T talked me through taking it back to ground zero and then reloading the firmware/software several months ago. Have had no problems since then. I was given a special phone number to call by the AT & t store rep which I used. Those people were able to help me.
