Default Method to connect Battery Charger

Best method to connect the CTEK battery charger to XK convertible.

Is their a method to leave connected in the garage without having to route the cables via the seal gap in the boot ?

Is it possible to have a connector to make connection and dis-connection easier

Here is what I did. I ran the Ctek extension from the battery into the spare tire area and out through the little rubber drain plug. I mounted a waterproof marine acc. socket under the rear . SO when I end my drive I just plug in the cigarette plug . The Ctek is mounted on my lift and on all the time and it is no problem to hook it up. The picture has my old Sears smart charger which smoked on me and I replaced it with a new Ctek 8 step charger.

I posted a complete write up on a permanent installation (last fall) with an weatherproof external male receptacle. There are others with slightly different installations. I mounted the receptacle dead center of the rear defuser of my '08 Xk-R. No more opening the trunk.
Was an easy afternoon. Search this forum. If you can't find it, PM.
Works like a champ!.....

I can see the advantage of Ken's installation as you can plug the unit in where ever you go because all you need is an extension cord. I looked at the other end by just plugging in the charger to the accessory socket. They both work so you'll need to see which one suits your need.

I see many advantages of your method.
One does not needlessly take the risk of fire. You can use the charger on other vehicles. Smaller hole to cut in car- or no hole.
Thanks BTW.

Just as an FYI I did not do any drilling of the car . On the 2012 bumper where I mounted the bracket is the metal part of the bumper. The bracket is held in place with a large metal spring clip and I slid it on using a hammer so it will be difficult to remove but it won't come off when you are driving. Also as you can see from the picture the wire comes through the rubber drain plug.
