@juliam You have a 2014 XK. Instead of modding it, why not save that money and sell/trade it for an XKR?
2014 is the best year they made. Supercharged motors are very stressed, I have seen that with the f type, I know the 5.0s had their timing gear issues, but they were fixed by this year. I want this car to last as long as possible and the extra stress and maintenance of a supercharger is not something I need or want to deal with. I already did when I had my f type. It's very hard to find a xkr near me in the spec I would like. I don't need to go fast and they look the same. I am not asking about performance mods because if I wanted performance I would just buy a v8 f type. I don't care about performance much but I love the looks of the xk and enhancing the looks is something I am passionate about, I don't want it to look tacky or stupid, and it won't. The xkr and xk look the exact same so in my case, although I could have gotten an XKR, It just did not really matter to me as long as I get a v8.
I think the best mod for an XK is to fit a XKR back exhaust box. Very simple to do, looks great with the quad pipes. The sound is brilliant, actually better than a XKR as it is open the whole time.
Sounds brilliant and completely unobtrusive on the motorway (highway).
Best thing I have done to any car I’ve had!
Great pictures and thanks for posting them. Love that RARE XKR-S and have never seen one outside of pictures.
Yes it was a shame a car of that level was sold without a locking rear diff! But Jaguar did eventually fix that within a few years with the release of the wonderful E-diff!
I would keep reading as the SC versions are not "stressed" what takes out late model Jaguar cars are cooling system disasters. Mainly due to owners doing nothing to their cars including checking the oil and coolant levels at regular intervals.
Also be careful deciding Jaguar fixed the timing system issues. Things were improved and changes made but with years on this forum the real solution is to ignore Jaguar's recommended oil change intervals and go back to around 6K mile oil changes. The chains can be inspected thru the oil fill cap and that is another thing a proactive owner can do to stay on top of the condition of the car.
Another vote to get the XKR but I am biased as my Jaguars have been SC and I don't want that to change! I had a 2005 STR (Drove it until 132K miles) and currently have a 2014 XJR.

Nice photos. Looks great. What wheels are on the XK? I'm normally one for staying stock, but they look great on an XK.
OK - I lied. On my '09 XK I've installed: XKR muffler; drilled/slotted rotors & ceramic pads; XKR front upper & lower mesh grills. I guess I do modify. ;-)
Cheers.

Fortunately I have all the mods already carried out from factory.
Someone mentioned spacers please don't fit spacers on a Jaguar XK.
The only mod I would like and I may do it next year is a quaife LSD fitted in place of the open diff
Wow beautiful car! The wheel gaps on the stock xks are awful and in my opinion look terrible. I installed spacers. It looks amazing now along with being lowered. The stock speed pack looks great and especially on your car. I did not know they even made an rs for that year but it looks amazing.

Im looking at the upper and lower grill. They seem to make a huge difference.

Well the supercharged cars are defiantly more stressed. because they are forced to compress more air, leading to higher cylinder pressures, temperatures, and increased wear on engine components and the drivetrain. Although yes with proper maintenance they still have pretty decent reliability if you get the euro amp kit, change supercharger oil, do the solid eaton coupler, etc... I loved my supercharged F type but I want to experience an NA motor. Still would love to get an XKR though maybe add it along with my one I have now. .

I do not like spacers as Jags are precision pieces of engineering, spacers will just mess up the drivetrain and geometry - this is a XKR-S there are quite a few changes over a regular XKR, namely the body kit which is carbon fiber, vortex rims, steering rack is different, suspension is setup differently and is 10mm lower, I believe control arms are different and it has the Alcon brakes, larger discs and Goodridge braided lines on the inside its all black pretty much with RS branding on the speedo and door sills, head rest and carpet mats. This car was never sold in the USA - 200 were made and 150 were sold in Europe LHD and the UK got the rest
The USA equivalent I think is the XKR175 sold in the USA and Canada - with a Supercharged 5.0 V8 but performance is around the same - a 0-60 mph time of 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 174 mph. The interior trim looks the same charcoal alston with piano black veneer and it has the speed pack fitted.

The North American market "equivalent" to the European market 2008 4.2L XKR-S was the top-of-the-line 2008 and 2009 4.2L XKR Portfolio Edition models, not the 5.0L XKR175.
No again they are not more stressed. They are designed to use the SC with many modifications and differences between the SC and NA versions. This is the reason we get the very common question can I buy the normal NA version and bolt on the SC stuff? No you can't because they are different engines that are designed AND built differently.
The reason Jaguar as well as dozens of other car manufacturers use these highly reliable Eaton SC's is because they do last in OEM installations.
Please read the forum!
These cars problems are NOT the SC. It is cooling problems from the plastic parts.

the car is now lowered on wheels along with f type svr hood vents, mina gallery carbon xkrs rear diffuser, mina gallery carbon front lip along with everything from the speed pack. the svr hood vents are gonna be replaced with the grantley design ones. the car is coming along well but still some more to go! if anyone cares to see how progress is, here it is! i will show how the new hood vents look when they get put on
Cool, although those vents aren't my style. But, you should learn how to crop all that black from photos before you post pictures. It makes for a much nicer viewing experience.

sorry about that! here’s the pics cropped. some people are iffy about the vents but i enjoy how they look, im also getting the rs rear spoiler instead of the speed pack but might stick with the speed pack spoiler if the rs one is too much. and heres what the grantley hood vents will look like. i’ll show when they actually go on the car but this is a generated image.

Funnily enough the Sc engine are the more reliable of the AJ8 especially in the cars prior to 2006. So don't worry to much as long as you stay on top of regular maintenance. The engine would be stress tested to ensure they can handle to boost of the SC
I've always liked the look of the larger rear ducktail spoiler (speed pack?) over the smaller stock spoiler. Is there a place, aftermarket or factory, where one can buy the larger spoiler?
