Default MY LED DRLs are now installed.

I have now installed the DRLs I have designed , I chose to go with Carbon / fiber but they could be in body colour also. I have C/F hood vents plus the rear C/F XKR.S Spoiler I also intend installing the front XKRs C/F defuser when Chris (Mina ) completes them.

I received my C/F fog light covers from Mina they came with a wire mesh grill which I removed, I then made Plugs out of styrofome and then a moulds right and left, then the final product of fiberglass , AS I'm not proficient at C/F I Aqua dip them in C/F dip.

I used Hella LEDayFlex LEDs as they are the best you can get as they use the same as a lot of the cars that have DRLs. they are very bright as there are two lights in one a total of eight per side. They are quite expensive but then you get what you pay far.

I really should have the headlights turned off but I kind of like them both on.??

I tried designing one in the headlights , I even purchased a used light but there is not enough room between the glass and the reflector . Bernie

Great job.
Maybe I am missing something, did you buy the lights with the enclosure, or is that what you built? Can you share where you got the lights? I have been looking for something for my '07.

Did you do the Hydrocoating yourself or have it done professionally?

Did the Mina frame already have the rectangles cut out for the lights, or is that something you designed yourself using the Mina product, then modified them?

Looks great!

What a superb job Bernie, although I would expect no less from you after seeing your rear seat delete.

Great job, perhaps another one for the aftermarket??

Best

Jim

Very nice work. I've considered fitting DRLs in my front vents, but I don't really want to draw attention to the 2010 model's 'cheek pouches', which I don't like.

The fog-light surounds came from Mina. I built the encloser for the lights.

I purchased the lights from Germany where they are made, from .Sascha Rader. rader@whr-online.de I found
they gave the best price. THE LIGHTS ARE, LEDayFlex11 rectangular lights they come in two 5 or 6 light string, If you don't want to use them all you can just cut them off,and keep them for spares . They are excellent to deal with.

Hi Richard. The Fog light cover came already cut out with a wire mesh glued on the back, I just cut threw the epoxy and then made the light enclosure. It was quite tricky to design as the lights have to face slightly upwards and face directly frontwards as LEDs only show there best when looking directly at them. I guess you could order the fog light cover without the grill, and primed not C/Fiber.

.I could have used my own covers but anything I Mod I like to keep the original for resale/.

AS regards the hydro coating I did this myself, Dosent quite match but close .

I'd be tempted (well, apart from being an ocean away), but mine's a collector's edition and I feel a certain responsibility to keep it original. Anyway, what I'd really prefer is the 2012+ look, with the meaner headlights.

Thanks Jim. Perhaps you could send this thread to Chris at Mina for us,., perhaps he will take it on. He's working on the rear seat delete. Bernie.

The look is great and makes the front end look totally different than the original OEM lights. I am sure that these would sell in the aftermarket. I also like the black against the original paint color. Great job Bernie.

Have you thought about changing out the OEM round driving light with an LED? Is it even available? It would be a nice match to the new LED's.
