I've been wanting Apple Carplay for my 2014 XKR for a while - has anyone tried the below? This seems new as i dont remember Navtool offering this way back when i was focused on upgrading things on the car.

Anyways, i know that our system has that weird fiberoptic audio cabling that causes a ton of problems w/audio upgrades.

Will this truly make our cars carplay ready? I asked for a manual and installation document to get more info.

 

Thanks for this, it is interesting however am confused when viewing the link posted it clearly advises:

"this will not work for cars with factory screen or factory navigation, you will need to purchase vehicle specific interface from this site"

When you then drill down further it takes you to 3 links only one of which works:

There seem to be a myriad of kits available and numerous add-ons, would definitely be interested if someone were to try it out, as a lifelong android user (I destest apple products) I'd only be interested in screen mirroring as have both front and rear camera's already...and no desire to watch DVD's whatsoever.
