Default Need Advice for Springs and Spacers

Hi guys
I have a 2007 XK (Non Super charged) car with 20" Sentas. Taking all that into account, what size spacers front and rear should I use and which brand lowering springs should I use? If i'm going to do it, I would like to go to the max without rubbing.
Thanks very much for the advice in advance!!!!

I'm just doing this alteration myself, I have Sabre 19" alloys on, but I'm going with H&R spacers, 20mm (part 4035633) on the front and 15mm (3035634) on the rear.

As for springs, i'm torn between H&R and Spires springs. The Spires wont drop the car as much as the H&R's, which here in the UK could be a good thing.

I second the spacer selections; I also used 20mm front and 15mm rear on my '08XK.

I would also caution you from lowering the car too much as the rear wheel cambers are NOT adjustable so you can not compensate for the added negative cambers that will result from lowering. My car had already about -1.3 degree camber in the back wheels, without lowering. That is plenty enough for the low profile 19 or 20' tires. Adding anything more will have tend to wear the inside of the tires more rapidly.

Hey Albert,
I'm just waiting for my spacers to arrive, just a quick one, the 15mm rear set of spacers, did you have to hacksaw any of the stock lugs? I've read people having to do this...which isnt ideal.

Yes, with the 15mm it was so close that I could NOT insert my spark plug checker gauge between the wheel studs and the wheel indent. I did have the stock 19" wheels and the indent may be different on various wheels. So, I cut off about 5 mm from the studs, which meant that I only cut off most of the un-threaded lead portion of the wheel studs. I used a high speed air-operated cutting disc.

On the other hand when I used the very same spacers on my new XF I had enough indent in the stock 2012 wheels where it was not necessary to cut the studs.

Yes, I wonder what the difference in look and rear wheel lug clearance would be comparing 20" Sentas vs 19" Sabres???
Is the early 2007-2008 XK different than the XKRs and 2009 on up XK/XKRs etc?

Hi Hawaii
So I've fitted my spacers, 20mm H&R's on the front and 15mm on the rear. I don't have the 20" Senta's so don't know the clearence pocket at the back. I didnt have to trim the original lugs which was a bonus as the packet space at the back of my Sabre's allowed for the fitting. Attahced pics showing the pocket and Spacer fitting for you.

As for driving, you can feel the difference, just need to get Springs next and fit those.

Thanks.

Wow , Thanks for posting the pictures. Funny how some need to cut the lugs and some do not with same wheel/spacer combo.
What torgue setting do you tighten the lugs/spacers too?
Are you happy with the amount of widths?
Thanks

THmotorsports.com has the HR springs for under $300 delivered to Mainland USA and spacers under $150/pair
Shipping of all is $110 to Maui......we("Except Alaska and Hawaii") always get screwed on that free shipping advertisement.

I'm in the UK so will look into shipping costs.. but thanks, H&R 29299-1 springs over here works out around £250-£300 so not quite as fair as you guys. I've been looking at my suspension actually and found I'm running 'Supersport Suspension' If anyone can give me a firm answer as to what this actually is, i'd appreciate it.

As for torque, I went with 90Nm and the spacers are the PERFECT size, seriously any more on the rear and it would stick outside the wheel arch.

It was a bonus that my Sabre's had the gap, if i'm honest I didnt look beforehand but was prepared to cut the stock lugs down to make it happen. Really glad with the spacers and the drive. Anyone thinking of adding spacers do it, the drive is better..
