Default "New" 2007 XKR convertible

Hi all from the Netherlands,
Watching the threads here for a long time already, yesterday I bought me a "new" 2007 XKR convertible. It's already got 170.000 km's of experience.
I don't know what the body colour is called, I'll call it Beige. The interior is ivory and a wallnut / black dash.
The topic I have read the most about is the infamous duck bill, which wasn't mentioned as fixed in the car history.
I'm already planning some mods for the car:
- Dashcam
- LPG conversion
- Coolant temperature indicator:
Using an Arduino, 1.6" transflective LCD, bluetooth module HC-05, and a bluetooth OBD reader. Of course other statistics can also be displayed.
For this probably one of the center vents is going to be sacrificed.

A few cars "back in time" I owned a Ford Thunderbird (2003) which had a lot in common with certain jaguar models.

From another thread I saw that some folks like to see pictures, here they are:

Cool, but on the LPG, where would you put the tank? Maybe if you sacrifice the entire boot area you could get a 6.8 gallon, maybe?
Convertibles aren't very popular with people in Europe, but I love 'em regardless of where I live.
Have fun with it!

Yes, it is indeed Winter Gold, a rare colour on the XK/XKR.

Default Mod & repair

Thanks for all replies.
Today I did my first "mod" on the car.
I installed a dashcam, and while having to remove the glovebox I repaired this as mentioned in other threads, which now opens gradually.
The dashcam is the Viofo A129, without the backside camera. It gets its power from the glovebox power socket (backside), with a modified phone charger in between.
After installing I went for a test drive, and while doing this I came across an X100. From the numberplate I can see it's a 1999 XKR Coupe.

Pictures and youtube movie. The movie starts at 300% speed, drops to 20% speed while passing the X100, and speeds up again. You can see it here:

Default hidden post ??

Yesterday, I posted a reply in this very thread,
it got quarantined, probably due to a youtube link,
Today I looked up my own posts by "Find all posts by Cabrio Bob",
The post shows up, bu when clicking it, it's not there ....
Was the corona test positive?

edit: while typing this message, and scroll down, I see the post, but when opening my thread, this post is not there...
edit 2: weird things, while clicking "Submit", the post is there above this post.

Your post is there, edited by GGG to remove the link. You must have tried right while he was in process.

That is the best mounting for a dash cam that I've seen yet.

I just got mine! Yep, I purchased one of these right after I saw your post, and Amazon just delivered it. I didn't opt for the dual camera as I had one before and it was problematic for a convertible. Now to install it!

I too have a 2003 Thunderbird along with my 2011 XKR Coupe and my 2006 Corvette convertible. I need to sell the T Bird but with this virus thing going on nothing is selling so I put it back in storage. It really is a nice car. I like your Jag.

That looks to be the V119 V2 or V3. V3 is the best choice of the moment, it has the best night video quality.
Mine is the A129 (not pro) without the rear cam. Had it laying on the shelf and never installed in my previous car.
I have chosen to not use parking mode, so used the switched power of the glovebox socket (backside).
there is this "dashcamtalk" forum, and has dedicated departments for viofo.

That's a very nice looking Tbird
Here are some more pics of my Tbird, some of them are taken with my infrared pass converted camera.

Forgot to mention,
Today I made the appointment for converting to LPG, it will be done in 2 weeks, and they will need a few days to complete it.
It will be a Prins VSI 2.0 system.
The LPG tank will be placed in the location of the spare wheel, and will have a capacity of 77 liters,
the LPG filling nipple will be next to the gas filling.
The cigar lighter in the dash will be replaced by the LPG <> gasoline switch.

Below some impressions of the LPG tank (mine will become a better finish) and the gas filling nipple. The brass parts can be unscrewed)

Do you get an incentive for using LPG/CNG/Propane over there? I know it costs less to operate and is FAR less emissions. I never really liked them myself, but hey, if the benefits outweigh the downside, I'm all for it.

We actually pay more taxes when driving on LPG (or diesel). LPG costs much less per liter, so having to drive an amount of km's a year will save some money.
Of course, I do it for the environment ....
