I read somewhere that the battery capacity can manually be specified in the software?

Dear all,

it is now about 7 years since I opened this thread and installed a new Varta H3 standard flooded battery in my 2011 XK 5.0.

The battery is still going strong appox. 7 years and 45k mls later.

But as preventative maintenance and to possibly address TPMS-warnings, which I am getting more often recently (despite quite new TPMS sensors), I will soon fit a new battery (same Varta model) to my XK.

One question. Last time I did the change, I kept the car on uninterrupted 12V connection to prevent loss of data etc. But now I don’t have a 3rd battery available at home to do it again this way.

Is there any worry to disconnect my XK from 12V for some minutes during the battery swap?

thanks all!
ter

If you have any type of inspection for emissions or whatever, all the onboard data will be wiped until it all retests. That can sometimes take 300km to achieve.
Other than that, you would have to reset the window travel both down and up. MAYBE the parking brake, but not always.
