New Jag Owner with Questions
Just picked up a 2011 Blue XK with 4,000 miles. My first Jag!
Need some help with the following.
Phone: I paired my iphone this morning and was able to receive a call but... is there a way to use a voice command to dial a contact in your phone book?
Battery: The car was used so little that I got a low battery warning on the screen telling me the car was shutting down the radio etc because of low batter voltage. So I connected my battery tender in the trunk, a real pain in the A_S! I charged the battery for about 14 hours. Seems OK now.
Any battery issues with these cars?
Voice commands: Are there really any voice commands you can use with this car?
Creaking: Again the car has sat so much that when I made sharp turns in my driveway the suspension creaks. Sounds like bushings in the front end? Anyone experience that?
Overall the car runs great. Clean Car Fax, and bought from a Jag Dealer.
Any pointers would be much appreciated.

You must keep your battery fresh using your charger; I have added a Delta 2 wire connector that hangs out from under the battery cover. Very easy to connect
your charger.
Locking the Jag reduces power consumption.
Keeping battery charged is THE most important thing to do................

There are no voice commands for use with these as far as I know. Before I bought my 10, I was looking at 11s and was told by the salesman that the service bay could enable some voice commands, but I've never been able to verify that.
These cars ARE power hungry and power sensitive. Locking the car does help maintain charge, never leave the key in the car, and if you go more than a week without driving it, it may be worthwhile to hook up a tender. I don't tender mine.
As far as creaking is concerned, that's a new one by me. I have no suspension noise from mine.
And lastly -- welcome! I've been very pleased with my XKR, and still often go out to the garage just to take a peek at what awesome looks like.
