One word of advise regarding specifically the 2010 XKR. Ask your buddy if he had his "water pump replaced". They tend to need to be replaced for that year specifically from the original manufacturer's. If not have your dealership look over the car to make sure there are no water pump leakage as if there is, it should be replaced immediately. Dont want to blow up that beautiful 510hp V8 mate

himble12345,
Welcome aboard to a great, information filled forum. You will learn a lot here. I also own a 2010 XKR, just make sure you check oil level periodically even if it's a pain in the ****. I check it in the morning before starting so that I don't have to wait 20 minutes after driving.
Enjoy!

Mine had a new engine put in as well due to low oil with no warnings. Previous owner had brought the car to my mechanic for a pre-sale inspection and my mechanic discovered engine was about to throw a rod. Owner's after market warranty paid for engine and installion by my mechanic.
