One word of advise regarding specifically the 2010 XKR. Ask your buddy if he had his "water pump replaced". They tend to need to be replaced for that year specifically from the original manufacturer's. If not have your dealership look over the car to make sure there are no water pump leakage as if there is, it should be replaced immediately. Dont want to blow up that beautiful 510hp V8 mate

himble12345,
Welcome aboard to a great, information filled forum. You will learn a lot here. I also own a 2010 XKR, just make sure you check oil level periodically even if it's a pain in the ****. I check it in the morning before starting so that I don't have to wait 20 minutes after driving.

Enjoy!

thanks everyone for the tips. This car had a brand new engine 15k miles before due to a faulty engine check light. every parts should be replaced and it just had a serve from the dealer. still have 1 year or 100,000m warranty.

Mine had a new engine put in as well due to low oil with no warnings. Previous owner had brought the car to my mechanic for a pre-sale inspection and my mechanic discovered engine was about to throw a rod. Owner's after market warranty paid for engine and installion by my mechanic.

Where's a dipstick when you need one?

I have no idea about the oil stick. It sits at my driveway for almost a week now. Because the DMV office is always full of people. Its a great car!

The running gag is: there's no dipstick on the 5.0 cars, and no oil-pressure gauge. You have to ask the car to tell you how much oil it has (see the owner's manual).

Anyway, get it registered, and get out & enjoy it!
