Default New member here with a 2007 XK coupe question

Hello everybody and happy new year!

I started the 2016 by purchasing a 2007 British Racing Green/Tan interior Jaguar XK coupe. I always wanted this car and thanks to 'depreciation' I was able to finally afford it. The only thing I can find wrong is an annoying rattle on the passenger side. I can't tell if it is in the door or the dash. It only shows itself when going over a street with some cracks and bumps. If it is smooth the noise is not there. Thoughts?

I have an 07 XK convertible and had a little rattle that turned out to be the interior door panel at the hinge side. I stuffed a little pad in there and haven't had a problem since.

If this doesn't happen while you have a passenger, I've read someone tracked their rattle down to the metal buckle rattling against something while not in use. Try buckling the seat belt, without a passenger and see if you still get the rattle.

Bingo! That was the culprit. I opened the door, gave the door panel a few taps with the back of my hand and right near the hinge was the offending rattle. I cut a piece of foam and squeezed it in and viola! rattle is gone. It is so nice to get an easy free fix.
Thank you both for posting your replies - very much appreciated.
