No cut Key to copy, need replacement
I came back to check for any further info before I really start working to get myself a new cut key and kinda thought the same thing - its all good tho BUT my local dealer is quoting a $400+ to get a cut emergency key from England, and $500+ for a new programmed fob. (so $900 total??) Also said he could not get me a code (?) So today I plan to call another dealer a bit further away and see what they have to say.
Another guy at the place I bought it thought they did have the key and they were also going to try and find a locksmith they thought would help me - I've not got back in touch with them yet, holidays and all. They did have a keyless fob, unprogrammed and an uncut key, I transferred the guts to that fob case and at least I have that and can attach a long lynard to the uncut key in the fob so I don't feel quite so vulnerable for now. They thought a locksmith they knew could pull the cyclder our of the trunk and cut the key for less than 400 bucks. But for now I can't drive it anyway, snow and ice on all the roads and she's an indoor cat in that kind of weather. I am planning to do the wiring for a Battery Tender hookup today, just got a NOCO delivered yesterday and want to set up an easy plug-in connection for that.
