Default Noise when I turn off the engine / Jaguar Le Port Marly

When I turn off the engine I can hear a valve or piston kind of noise, something that rubs with something else? any ideas? also I noticed today and not sure why I could not see the water, from the washing fluid hitting the headlights only the windshield...

The headlamp washers don't activate every time. Maybe every 3rd use. I'm not sure exactly how it determines when to come on, but it's not every time. I noticed this on my X350 (2006 XJ8) as well.

mine used to do it first time before, that i why, i was a bit confused. maybe related to the washing fluid level or something else...hopefully what i need is some kind of lubrification , exhaust valves maybe?

I assume you've (manually) checked the oil level ??

Noises are notoriously hard to diagnose - especially over the Internet !
Your car (a 2010 ?) is probably still under warrantee ?? If so, get it to a Dealer and have them listen to it. I would get the issue documented (in some paperwork), in case they don't find anything...then it croaks outside the Warrantee period....

Good Luck - and it may just be your imagination !

oil level is with the ordinator. its correct.

dealer said it was normal, that a noise happen when shutting off the engine, maybe one time on 3 or 5 , it does it, they said it was the air in the exhaust pipes.

does this happenned to other xkr please? I am curious to know. thank you
