Default Nose cone / bumper respray

Am thinking of having my nose cone resprayed...am hoping to get advice from someone that has done this and can share any pitfalls. Specifically, would you recommend that I remove it myself and deliver it to the shop or would you let them take care of it. I have parking (and I guess people) sensors on it as well as pop-up lamp washers.

Thanks in advance.

Be very careful with the paint shop you choose. Choose the best one in your area. I'm currently facing the frustrating situation of having my front bumper resprayed three times at different shops, yet the color still doesn't match. I was told that my Liquid silver color is difficult to match.

I let my shop handle it all.
The cheaper shops “mask” things off. The shop I use performs the complete tear down and reassembly. If connects are no longer serviceable, they only use factory parts as replacements. They are a Jaguar certified repair shop.

The above emphasis is mine. That's the key to success.

There is no short changing it... "You get what you pay for."

LOL, they don't need to be Jaguar certified. It's clips and screws, Geesh. @Speedmaster I had mine done at the local body shop and I asked about their process before they did anything. They removed the cover first. Sent me a pic, tho I didn't ask. Been using them for years. $600 to sand, prime and spray.

You will certainly get your best job by taking it off your self and removing all of the lights and grills. Should save the shop about an hour and a half labor charges and you will be sure it is done correctly. There has been some mention of mismatching paint thrown about here from time to time. Some of that may be from shops that are mixing it themselves but from my experience I have sprayed about 8 Jaguar colors over the years using PPG Mainline base\coat clear coat system and have had excellent results so far with their factory recipes. The only shade I ever had to blend was the metallic silver and that was just a precaution. Keep in mind that across the industry there is usually a little larger margin of error when it comes to plastic bumper covers front and rear.

it seems we all get different mileage from our service providers.
I expect perfection, and coincidentally, that's what I typically get. In those rare occurrences I don't, the work gets redone to my expected standard.
