Observation today - car colors
Waiting at a light here in SD, I happened to take notice that at all for ways of my intersection that almost every car, with the exception of two was white, black, or a shade of silver. That was 2 (both shades of red) of 60-70+ cars. No shades of color at all. Our parking lot reflects the same thing. Mercedes are almost always white, solver or black... what happened to colors? Where's blue, glad gold is gone but no yellow, brg, French racing blue, etc. Things have become boring

In the area where we live, you could buy a new BMW in any color you wanted, so long as it was a derivative of Silver... That was the favorite color of the dealership's owner. Thankfully, he's no longer around.
On another note, the silvers, whites, cream colors, etc., are much cooler here in the arid central valley climate. I'm pretty certain that dictates a person's decision making process (at least around these parts) to a great extent. That said, though, I'm not much of a silver person, so most of my wife's cars have been white. Myself, I like variety. There's so much more to be said and enjoyed of a car's character with a little variety!

I asked a Dealer this same question, and he said most people buy white, silver or gray cars. I looked at the lot, and all there WAS was white, silver or gray cars. Most people buy a car in the dealer inventory, so those were the only options they had. I'd like to know what the Color Trends are for cars which are ORDERED specifically.

As I've posted before, years ago I went to a Volvo dealer, because I was interested in an S80. Guess what? They don't offer red as an option for the S80. You can get red for the S60, but not the S80. WTF??

The red s60 looks awesome. There was one in a Korean drama I watched, it was really smart.
Our family now has 3 red cars (two IRR). You notice a lot of red cars on the road, mainly in the new mazdas. Previously we had silver which is easy to maintain, but even though my hair is going that colour my mid life crisis demanded red in the f type and XE. It might be harder to sell, but it is a lovely colour.

Mazda and Ford do an incredible job on their metallic red. When clean that paint looks really bright and deep. I think Lexus consistently has the best metallic reds I've ever seen even nicer than Ferrari, Merc, Aston, Lambo, etc. Why >90% of cars are basic colors is sad. All the more reason if I go back to Jag I'll try to get into a French racing blue XKR-s like AllBlueACR's that's so gorgeous and unique
