Default Overhead console colors

Is there only a beige overhead console for the 07-09 XK? Will the consoles from the later models fit? Getting the headliner replaced with black and I'd like to find a black console.

I've never seen but the beige console. You could wrap it.

I'd spray it with a rattle can of black paint designed for use on plastic. You might need a primer for the best adhesion.

That's what I was thinking. Sand, prime, sand, paint. Thanks for the info!

There you go, it is available in charcoal. That will cover your needs. Just be sitting down when you find out what it cost.

From what I can find, the ebony version of the console is 2012+ only and not compatible with older versions. There's only one part number for the console for the coupe from 07-09.

Instead of my suggestion in Post #3, you may want to use Plasti Dip. If you don't like it, it peels off. Read the Q&As and customer ratings.

When I changed the failed interior bits, I also changed from Canvas Alston suede to Jet Alston Suede. Ordering new charcoal hardware such as hooks, caps etc was cheap and easy. The overhead console was expensive new and I didn’t want to hassle with hunting for one on eBay so I completely disassembled mine. It was quite easy to do and I used SEM black plastic dye. Came out looking like it was made that way and five years later it still looks new.

However there should be no reason why a 2012+ one won’t fit, just make certain which version you get - convertible vs. coupe, PDC buttons, etc.
