Default Paddle Shifter upgrade...

Not happy with the stock paddle shifters (a bit to small) so I took a chance and ordered this set and I'm very happy with the quality. They are not plastic and can be attached with the included two way tape or by set screws. I just used the screw option. Easier two remove if there is a need to. I will probably remove the set screws and put a dab of medium strength thread locker on them.

Installed - 5mins

4 set screws per paddle

For whatever reason the - (minus symbol) is not visible

Side view… quite thin

They look good. So the set screw tightens to the existing paddles?

Thats correct. They feel very solid when in place.

Yes them nasty plastic paddle shifters what a disgrace, they should have never made their way into the cabin of a jaguar

Like yourself it was one of my first upgrades

I went the silver option to match my dash

It still doesn't solve the problem that the paddles are right up against where I'd want to rest my fingers around the wheel.

Not a big priority, but some day I might make a new setup. The Jaguar one saves $$$ in manufacture for sure being and nice flat.

Considering I barely use them I'll pass on getting a pair. To me they look out of place.

I have the same set, and could not use them out of the box.
See my review here.

As you can see, thanks to them being flat, the gap to the stalks made them difficult for me, so I eventually pulled them off, used a hacksaw on the thick portion just above the mounting ring, and bent them inward to remain equal distance to the wheel itself. It worked wonderfully and I love em. I still need to do the bottom portion, as they are very thick and I still hit them with my knee on occasion.

Just an FYI

I have no issue at all with using them as they are curved and are above the turn signal and wiper controls. Clevername, I assume you are you referring to the set illustrated by steve_k_xk? The design is a bit different on his set up. The vendor is bruceshark-001 on ebay 99.3% positive feedback.

I think you have mistaken my comments, sorry. The set I have is exactly what you picture. The curvature I mention is the fact that they are flat pieces, therefore very close to the wheel at the mounting point, but extend significantly away from the wheel at each of their ends. This has caused me problems with clearance.
Allow me to rob one of your images to explain. I hack-sawed the thickest part of the paddle (shown by the red lines) and then bent (or folded int the cut) the ends upward to maintain the same distance to the wheel as the center mounting point. A great improvement to say the least.
They were almost unusable for me being flat, but this solved my problem.

I get what you mean now. Interestingly enough I don't have an issue with clearance or any usability concern. I'm glad you were able to 'modify' yours to your satisfaction.

Mine is also fine plenty of clearance

I guess one those rare occasions where the item actually fits without modifications
