Default Painting of rotor hat

Which paint do you guys recommend for the painting of the rotor hat? Just want to minimize rust and maintain an aesthetic look.

thank you

Rust inhibiting flat black, with a light smear of grease on the surface to avoid sticking to the wheel.

I used VHT high temp paint after a thorough de-greasing.Closest color match I could find to the caliper.

I can't give you any details about the paint, as everything was done by my Indy ASE-Certified technician: new Centric Alcon rotors and Brembo ceramic pads. The hats are matte grey. No more black brake dust! OEM 20" Selena wheels, exclusive to the 2009 XKR Portfolio models.

Potenza Sports. Nice tires. When F1 dropped them, all the drivers complained.
And before I’m called out for thread hijacking (glancing sideways at Stuart S) Both the grey and matching the calipers is quite nice.
We use lithium grease (sparingly) to ensure there’s no sticking.

I don’t mind the brake dust. It washes up in a jiffy with a sponge, warm water and a little organic cleaner called “hertel”.
It leaves a nice finish on the tires too. So no need to purchase any tire dressings.

I'd advise grey or silver for an OEM look. JLR and many OEMs use a zinc e-coat. Some aftermarket discs have this as an option when ordering.

Ok…now I have to go out to the garage to look at mine. BTW…my ‘15 XKR has the red calipers, but no “R” logo on the calipers. Why is that?

2nd BTW…I put zinc rotors on my boat trailer. A few dips in salt water, and they rusted.

My zinc plated fronts 'warped' or at least maybe hot spotted. I replaced with brembo that have a blackish anti corrosion finish. Scuffed it up and sprayed with some old industrial silver epoxy paint.
They are subtle, not attention getting

You don't have the Alcon Performance Brake Package.

Alcon brakes were available only on 2008 and 2009 (4.2L) models. What made them special and expensive - a $5,000 option in 2009?

1. Calipers: painted red, both fronts and rears are cast with a raised //R Logo, (not a sticker). Fronts are printed "6 piston" and rears are not printed and have 4 pistons.

2. Discs: 400mm front, 350mm rears with crescent-shaped grooves. The largest ever fitted to a production Jaguar at that time.
